Zoom!® Teeth Whitening

The Zoom!® teeth whitening treatment is one of the most popular in the country. Available both as an in-office and at-home whitening system, Zoom!® can produce dramatic results in little time. With the in-office professional whitening system, Dr. Hong first prepares the gums and lips by covering them with a guard. This help prevents the whitening solution from irritating any tissue, though there may still be some slight sensitivity. Once in place, the Zoom!® whitening solution is applied to the teeth and activated by the Zoom!® treatment light. This dental light works in conjunction with the gel to penetrate the teeth and break up stains. After three 15 minute sessions, during which time you can relax, the treatment is complete. Though results vary by patient, Zoom!® can whiten teeth by up to eight shades in just one 45 minute treatment session.

If you prefer to whiten your teeth on your own time in the comfort of your home, the Zoom!® at-home treatment is for you. Though not as effective or as fast-acting as the in-office system, the at-home treatment – a hydrogen peroxide-based gel placed in a mouth tray and worn overnight – can produce noticeable results. In fact the Zoom!® Weekender kit can lighten teeth by up to six shades in just three nights.

Sapphire Teeth Whitening

We are happy to be able to offer the Sapphire chairside and at-home teeth whitening system at our Century City practice! As with Zoom!®, the Sapphire teeth whitening system uses a bleaching gel and proprietary dental light to activate the whitening ingredients. Though similar to Zoom!®, the Sapphire professional teeth whitening treatment can actually be completed in less time. A typical Sapphire treatment can be completed in approximately 30 minutes, making it one of (if not the) fastest in-office whitening treatment available today. For patients with busy schedules, as well as those who suffer from some degree of dental anxiety, the Sapphire whitening system is an ideal option as it is extremely quick and effective. After treatment, patients can expect teeth to be whitening by up to 6 shades. If you don’t have time to schedule an appointment, or would simply like to whiten your teeth on your own time, there is also an at-home Sapphire whitening system.
